Aunt Jayme and Uncle Tyler's Wedding

This last weekend, Bryan's sister Jayme was married to her long time boyfriend Tyler in Omaha, NE. It was a great weekend and we wanted to share some photos with you. We know that the photographer got some great shots of Henry in his full tux going down the aisle and some other family shots- and we will share those with you when we have the info.

In the mean time here are some photos for you to enjoy!

Henry at the airport......

Watching the trucks on the runway....

Henry and Daddy all ready for the dinner at the Omaha Press Club.

Henry enjoying his dinner with his momma at the Press Club. All decked out in Polo :) Henry enjoyed spending the night with his cousins!

With momma right before we left for the wedding.... he was not happy to be up from a nap in in this suit.

Mommy and Henry... one more try for a smile, and I got tears

On the bus on the way to the mansion with momma and daddy

With Daddy waiting for everything to get started... we had him in his coat, but it had a flower on the lapel that he decided to EAT so we took it off until the wedding started.

Playing with Uncle Tyler's mom, I think she had a camera that he wanted. (As a note, the shirt was WAY too short, and wouldn't stay tucked in, so that is why he looks a little sloppy!)

He really likes Crystal!

Right before everyone was seated for the wedding, Henry really wanted that camera tripod!

And in case you were wondering, Jayme and Tyler did get married at this little party! (Sadly it wasn't all about Henry!) Their first dance

The bride decided on a line dance later in the evening!

It was a great time, and I hope the photographer ended up with some great shots!

Henry's New Table

Since today Henry and I are stuck at home (we are under a blizzard watch here, but so far nothing happening) I thought I would share with you some photos of Henry and his new table.

Grandma and Grandpa George bought Henry this little table for his birthday. We decided to put it in the kitchen for now, that way Henry can eat some snacks in the kitchen while momma is working on dinner. So far he has enjoyed it.

But mostly he has just enjoyed pushing the chairs around the kitchen... they make a fun noise and it gives him something to do!

Birthday Boy

We had so much fun celebrating Henry's first birthday this weekend. We started the day with cinnamon rolls (a new one for Henry) and playing with mommy and daddy. We all got showered (Henry took a shower!) and dressed and headed over to Nana and Grandpa's for the big party

Of course, Grandpa had made quite the party set up:

We were excited for all of the guests, and other Grandparents to get there. Henry loved playing with the big kids (I say playing- they ran around and Henry really just watched and would try and crawl after them, it was so cute!)

He was a champ, made it without any morning nap and was in a pretty good mood until the presents. After presents we sang happy birthday and fed Henry his cake. I made this cake,

and then we realized that the blue frosting was AWFUL. It stained everything, and we weren't about to let Henry use it as his smash cake (although, we fed it to all of the other kids there, hehe!) So here is Henry with the smash cake we made him...

He wasn't sure what to do with it at first, I am not even sure he knew that it was something to eat. I gave him a taste of the frosting, and THEN he realized, ok, I might eat this.... here is what happened.

Face down in the cake!

Uh, oh! Nana saw him making a mess, he knew that wasn't good!

Oh, well! The cake was too good.

We have a video and as soon as Bryan can get it uploaded I will share it with you. Thank you to everyone who made it a special day, we couldn't have asked for more! We are looking forward to lots of fun birthdays in the future, they are sure to be fun!
Love you pumpkin!

Henry's Birthday Week

This is Mr. Henry's birthday week, so in celebration of one whole year I am going to share some past photos that really tell how his first year went.

Starting here, this was me about 6 weeks before I gave birth, I was all tummy!

This was me at 36 weeks, Bryan told me that we needed to take a few "belly" shots before he got here (we didn't take a week by week photo, maybe next time!) I was just about ready for Henry to get here (as my facial expression might suggest)

Up close of the belly, it really got even bigger in the last 4 weeks (see photo in my last post- I was HUGE)

We finally got to meet Henry after 15 hours of labor, not bad actually. I went into labor at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Friday. I was out to lunch and shopping (at Nordstrom of all places!) with my mom and my friend Natalie when I realized that I was indeed in labor. Bryan was also out to lunch.... remember that Bryan?
A photo of us about 10:00 the morning he was born, still no sleep!

Henry was delivered after 3 hours (yes three) of pushing, and he weighed 8lbs 1oz. He was 21 inches long and was born at 4:10 am (his momma was born at 4:12 am!)

He was not a happy baby in these photos, the cord was wrapped around his neck (hence 3 hours of pushing) and he was a tired little man.

Little did we know what we were in for..... more posts later this week including Henry and his family, Henry- a collage of 12 months, Henry and his favorite things and some of our favorite photos!

Birthday Boy!

Well, the big birthday is coming up in just a couple of weeks, hard to believe that a year ago I was trying to figure out how to make Henry come out faster, now all I want is for time to slow down so that I can enjoy my time with him! Can you believe that this was me nearly a year ago? I look happy, right?
We are planning a party at my parents on the 22th (the day of!) and we are planning cake and ice cream (and as grandpa says, lunch too). I am pretty excited to be making his cake- we will see how it goes, but the way I figure it, he is going to smash it anyway, so who cares?

I am also planning to make some cookies with his name on them, like these. Aren't I domestic?

Well, I am off to look for some birthday fun items (including a birthday boy outfit, but don't tell daddy). We will keep you posted on upcoming birthday fun, and look for a progressive post the week of his b-day, it will be fun!)

"No"

Henry has recently learned a fun new skill- shaking his head "no". I don't think that he really knows what it means, but when we tell him "no" he shakes his head back at us. He learned how to do this last week, so here is a little clip of him telling Bryan "no"

Walking!

A couple of weeks ago, when Henry and I were hanging out at home, he took his very first steps. I yelled, I jumped up and down, I kissed him- he looked at me like I was nuts. We tried to get him to do it for daddy when he got home, but NO LUCK. I think Bryan thought I had made it up.

Well last week he thought that he might start trying again, and we got him to actually walk- a LOT! We caught a couple on video. He is even better now (much more balanced!) and we think he should be pretty good to go by Jayme's wedding.

Enjoy these, we will get some new ones soon to post!
